For the prevention of measles, mumps and rubella, two vaccines have been registered in our country. Both vaccines are lyophilized preparations containing live attenuated virus.

The vaccine is available in pharmacy. A single dose of 0.5 ml should be administered subcutaneously or intramuscularly.

The pharmacy available vaccine is primarily recommended for the immunization of women of susceptible reproductive age who are not vaccinated against rubella (usually over 41 years of age). The vaccine should not be given to pregnant women. Pregnancy is not recommended within 3 months of MMR vaccination.

Tick-borne encephalitis

It is suggested that the vaccination process should start or finish (the first 2 doses in any case) before spring time (before the period of the ticks starts) i.e. in winter, when there is no risk of infection.
