The pharmacy available vaccine is primarily recommended for the immunization of women of susceptible reproductive age who are not vaccinated against rubella (usually over 41 years of age). The vaccine should not be given to pregnant women. Pregnancy is not recommended within 3 months of MMR vaccination.

A 3 year-long protection can be achieved with vaccination for preventing abdominal typhus.
The disease is spread by either an asymptomatic virus carrier or a sick person. It is transmitted mainly by objects (food, beverages) contaminated by stool, and to a smaller extent also by droplet infection.
It gives protections against both (A and B) types of hepatitis. The vaccinations have to be given according to a 0-1-6 month time schedule.
