Two types of vaccines are available in Hungary.
In one type the vaccine is available separately for children between the age of 1-12 and people above the age of 12.
Primary vaccination series consists of 3 doses. Dose 2 has to be given 1-3- months after dose 1, and dose 3 9-12 months after dose 2.
In case of shorter time available for the vaccination to take effect, dose 2 can be given at the 7th day after dose 1, and dose 3 at the 21st day after dose 1.
The vaccination takes effect in 14 days after dose 2 the soonest.
In order to achieve a longer period of protection, the first dose of revaccination is needed in 3 years after the primary vaccination. After this, other revaccinations are necessary in every 5 years till the age of 49. Above the age of 49 revaccinations are crucial in every 3 years.
In the other type the vaccine is available separately for children between the age of 1-16 and people above the age of 16.
In this case in the primary vaccination series also 3 doses are necessary for reaching protection. Dose 2 has to be given 1-3 months after dose 1, and dose 3 9-12 months after dose 2. In case of shorter time available for the vaccination to take effect, dose 2 can be given 14 days after dose 1.
